Dollar Music Society
|
We organise a series of four or five concerts each year, between September and April.
We also have an annual music festival for young performers.
Our concerts, held in the Gibson Hall, Dollar Academy are open to all - this is not an exclusive 'club'! All concerts start at 7.30 p.m. and cost £7 per adult single (no charge for children).
Concerts normally last about 2 hours and, at the interval, you can enjoy a glass of wine or a soft drink while you chat with your friends and sometimes with the performers too.
We hope to continue arranging coach trips to concerts, opera and ballet in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth as and when suitable opportunities arise.

Dollar Art Group
|
The Group meets in the Maguire Building at Dollar Academy for two ten week terms October to December and January to April. It meets on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm and offers two areas of work. Firstly there is a life drawing class aimed at all levels of ability. Here you can learn new drawing techniques whether starting from scratch or just getting back into it. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone who is looking to compile an Art College portfolio and requires a quota of figure drawing. In the second class you are invited to bring in your own paintings and materials. You are provided with space to work, tutoring, advice and an opportunity to discuss their work with the other artists in the group. Materials for the drawing class are provided. The atmosphere at the class is friendly and relaxed and we accommodate all artists from beginner to the expert.
